Bodam, May 26: Following the directives of Deputy Commissioner Vijaya Jadhav, a camp was organized in Gram Panchayat Bonta, located in the village of Bonta Paharia Tola in Bodam block, to provide government scheme benefits to 17 Paharia and Sabar families.
The camp saw the presence of Bodam Block Development Officer Nazia Afroz, Circle Officer Nivedita Niyati, Assistant Director of Social Security Neha Sanjana Khalkho, and Secretary of Human Welfare Trust Mukhtar Alam Khan. During the event, health check-ups were conducted for members of the Sabar tribe, and essential items were distributed with the assistance of the Human Welfare Trust.

The camp received a total of 08 applications for pension benefits, 01 for birth certificates, 03 for job cards, 05 for bank accounts, and 02 for Aadhaar cards. Additionally, animal medicine was distributed among 13 beneficiaries. Deworming medicine, anti-diarrheal medicine, multi-vitamins, and ointments were specifically distributed to the Sabar community. Moreover, awareness was raised about the potential of goat rearing.
The village is home to a total of 44 individuals. Students were provided with school bags, pencils, copies, slates, erasers, and other necessary school supplies. Sarees were distributed among women, while men received dhotis. Pregnant women and each family received Chyawanprash, multi-vitamin tablets, ORS, anti-fungal cream, shampoo pouches, toothbrushes, toothpaste, nail cutters, combs, and slippers for children and elders. During the event, officials also handed over Rs. 5,600 to the relatives of a woman who had tragically passed away due to a snakebite in the village itself. The amount was given as a support fund. Women Supervisor Naso Murmu, Block Coordinator for Panchayat Raj Ramdhan Hansda, Assistant Engineer Sumit Kumar, Junior Engineer Sushil Besra, Block Program Officer Bandhu Kushal Mahto, Bonta Chief Sukanti Kisku, In-charge Block Welfare Officer Sudhakar Mahto, Jaljeevan Mission’s SM Vibhishan Gop, Panchayat Secretary Kiran Mahato, and Rozgar Sevak Bhagirath Mahato were among the officials present at the occasion.
