SCCI urges Tata Steel to provide drinking water facility on Kadma-Sonari Link Road

Jamshedpur, April 19: Singhbhum Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI) vice president (Public Relations and Welfare) Mukesh Mittal has requested Tata Steel to make provision of more number of bicycles for hiring at Jubilee Park and Kadma-Sonari Link Road, increasing drinking water taps at Jubilee Park, provision of drinking water facility at Kadma-Sonari Link Road and provision of dust bins both at Jubilee Park and Kadma-Sonari Link Road.

In a letter to Tata Steel vice president (Corporate Services) Chanakya Chaudhary, Mittal said, there are only eight bicycles each at the Entry and Exit Gates for hiring at Jubilee Park and at Kadma-Sonari Link Road. Considering the interest of people who desire to hire bicycles at these places, it is requested that the number of bicycles for hiring may be doubled so that no one gets disappointed / required to wait for long for his turn to come.”

The letter stated, “Drinking Water facility is available for people who visit Jubilee Park, considering the vast area and the density, it is felt that number of taps provided is not adequate and needs to be suitably increased in a scattered manner. As far as Kadma-Sonari Link Road is concerned, there is no drinking water facility available. This needs to be provided for people who use this stretch of road for jogging / morning walk, cycling, etc.”

It further said, “While dust bins have been provided at Jubilee Park, considering the vast area and the density, availability of dust bins does not appear to be quite adequate. Similarly, dust bins may please be made available at Kadma-Sonari Link Road as well. A survey could be undertaken to identify the locations where there is need for dust bins so that people do not litter things everywhere and make the place dirty and unusable.”

Mittal said that Tata Steel has been generous enough to provide numerous civic amenities for citizens of Jamshedpur at large and our request, on behalf of the people of this great Steel City, for augmentation / provision of the above facilities, we hope, shall merit due consideration and needful shall be done.
