Jamshedpur, May 27: On Friday, a delegation from the Singhbhum Chamber of Commerce met with President Draupadi Murmu in Ranchi. The meeting, presided over by Vijay Anand Moonka, primarily focused on urging the President to establish an airport in Jamshedpur.

Vijay Anand Moonka expressed his disappointment that despite being the industrial capital of the country, Jamshedpur lacks an airport. The absence of an airport has hindered the city’s development, making it less attractive to new investors. Moonka emphasized the urgent need to construct an airport in Jamshedpur to stimulate economic growth.

Additionally, Honorary General Secretary Manav Kedia drew the President’s attention to the lack of higher education facilities in Jharkhand. This educational deficit has had adverse effects on the state’s development and revenue generation. Moreover, the absence of a multi-specialty hospital in Jharkhand has caused inconvenience to its residents and resulted in significant outflow of funds from the state.

President Draupadi Murmu attentively listened to the delegation’s concerns and assured them that appropriate action would be taken. She also reminisced about her visit to Jamshedpur in March 2018 when she had visited the Chamber Bhavan. The delegation extended an invitation to the President to revisit the chamber. The delegation included Vice President Nitesh Dhoot, Mukesh Mittal, co-opted members Rajeev Aggarwal Advocate, Abhishek Aggarwal “Goldy,” Rajesh Lodha, Satyanarayan Aggarwal “Munna,” Secretary Bharat Makani, Sanwarmal Sharma, Anil Modi, and Piyush Chowdhary Advocates.
