IGNOU B. Ed workshop at Jamshedpur Women’s University

Jamshedpur, May 27: The eighth day of the 12-day workshop for the IGNOU B.Ed Program, organized at Jamshedpur Women’s University, came to a successful conclusion with a series of educational activities. The day commenced with a group prayer, followed by an inspiring address from IGNOU Program Coordinator Dr. Tripura Jha, who encouraged the trainee teachers and female educators to think critically about various contextual issues related to the workshop’s theme. Dr. Jha also emphasized the importance of active participation in general discussions among colleagues at their respective schools.

During the first session, resource worker Dr. Sushil Kumar Tiwari captivated the participants with an informative and engaging presentation on the role of teachers in solving teaching and learning challenges through action research. Using a visually appealing PowerPoint presentation, Dr. Tiwari meticulously analyzed the entire process of conducting action research in schools through group activities, empowering the trainee teachers and educators with practical knowledge.

In the subsequent session, resource worker Soni Kumari fostered a forward-looking perspective among the student teachers, introducing them to various tools and techniques for scholastic and co-scholastic assessment. This session aimed to equip the participants with the necessary skills to assess students effectively in both academic and non-academic domains.

The fourth session, led by resource person Dr. Suchita Bhuiyan, shed light on the importance of child rights and the role of teachers in safeguarding them. Dr. Bhuiyan delved into different scenarios where child rights are violated and elaborated on the responsibilities of teachers in addressing such situations, both within and outside the classroom. As part of the workshop activities, trainee student teachers presented their group reports under the guidance of their respective group leaders. Dr. Tripura Jha, Neha Suruchi Minj, Prabhakar Rao, Upendra Sharma, and other participants made significant contributions, ensuring the success of the workshop session. The day concluded with a collective rendition of the national anthem, fostering a sense of unity and pride among the attendees.
