Jamshedpur, May 27: Jamshedpur Notified Area Committee (JNAC) commenced converting warnings into action as on Saturday, May 27, a team led by Special Officer Sanjay Kumar demolished the basement staircases of buildings on Holding nos 109 and 110 in Sakchi SNP Area as the owners had failed to comply with the notices of discontinuing commercial activities in the basements of the buildings concerned as they had been sanctioned for vehicular parking spaces.
JNAC Special Officer Sanjay Kumar said, “We had sent out notifications followed by several reminders to owners of buildings directing them to discontinue using basement parking spaces as commercial units. Even warnings went abegging as we did not get any positive response to our notification and reminders.”
The JNAC Special Officer informed that notices in this regard had been sent out to owners of 46 such buildings where basement parking space was being used for commercial purposes.
He stated that 15 such owners had given affidavits that they had cleared their building basements and reinstated the space for parking.
A committee has been formed to check the veracity of such affidavits and file the reports.
Sanjay Kumar said that JNAC had launched action against non-compliance of directives from Saturday and would continue till the basement areas of buildings concerned were not cleared for parking spaces.

Surprised how come the owner of the building permits such crime, they do not have any accountability towards any care for the “Civic Sense” when vehicular traffic has immensely increased and parking is a BIG CONCERN!!
Wish such stern actions are taken for encroach areas were public obstacles are big time, taken seriously. Politicians should be out of such misdoings.
More actions required for the violators.
In encouraging all such crimes in deviations of approved building plans & basement parking,the mastermind is always the concerned authorities of the municipality.The concerned munipal Chief & his/her subordinates might be knowingly involved in these illegal ativities for for illegal gratifications encouraging in deviations of building plans & basement parking since 2011 .
