Singhbhum Chamber and JNAC Organise Trade Licence Camp

Jamshedpur: In a major push for business compliance and ease of doing business, the Singhbhum Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI), in collaboration with the Jamshedpur Notified Area Committee (JNAC), hosted a successful one-day Trade Licence Camp at Kamani Centre, Bistupur. The initiative aimed to streamline administrative procedures for the local business community.

Efficiency and Revenue Generation

The camp saw high engagement from local traders, providing a “one-window” solution for statutory requirements. According to Chamber officials:

• New Licences: 10 fresh trade licences were issued on the spot.

• Renewals: 13 existing licences were successfully renewed.

• Revenue: The camp generated approximately ₹55,000 in revenue for the civic body.

Strengthening State-Business Coordination

JNAC Municipal Commissioner Krishna Kumar, who inaugurated the camp, emphasized that timely renewals strengthen the coordination between the civic administration and the trading community. He appreciated the Chamber’s proactive role in bringing government services directly to the doorsteps of entrepreneurs.

SCCI President Manav Kedia reiterated the Chamber’s mission to simplify administrative navigation for its members. “Our primary objective is to create awareness and motivate traders toward responsible and lawful business practices,” Kedia stated.

Promoting Transparency and Growth

Vice President (Trade & Commerce) Anil Modi and General Secretary Puneet Kauntia highlighted that obtaining a trade licence is now a fundamental necessity for credible business operations. They noted that operating within the legal framework supports organized urban development and enhances the reputation of Jamshedpur’s commercial sector.

The event was supported by key Chamber members, including Bharat Makani, Vinod Sharma, and Treasurer Anil Ringsia, who assured that similar facilitation camps would be organized across different parts of the city in the future.
