Jamshedpur: Chilling details have emerged in the Agrico triple murder case as the accused, Ravindra Singh, reportedly confessed to killing his wife, daughter, and younger son due to overwhelming mental stress and anxiety regarding his family’s future. The retired Tata Steel employee allegedly carried out the killings at his residence under the jurisdiction of the Sidhgora police station.
A Pattern of Fear and Depression
During interrogation, Singh told police that retirement had triggered a period of deep depression and financial insecurity. He reportedly told investigators that he was plagued by a persistent fear of his own sudden death, which he believed would leave his family helpless and destitute. This distorted sense of “protection” through elimination allegedly drove him to the violent act.
The Sequence of Events
Police reports reconstruct the tragic events of Monday morning:
- The First Attack: Singh allegedly attacked his wife, Sarita Singh, while she was busy cooking in the kitchen.
- The Children: He then moved to kill his daughter, Supriya Singh, and his younger son, Ravishek Kumar.
- Suicide Attempt: After killing his family members, the accused reportedly attempted to end his own life but survived.
Emotional Confrontation at the Station
The case took a poignant turn on Tuesday when the accused’s elder son, Abhishek, arrived from Raipur. Upon seeing his son at the police station, Ravindra Singh reportedly broke down in tears, expressing immediate regret for his actions.
Forensic teams and Sidhgora police continue to investigate the scene, though initial findings strongly point toward a breakdown in mental health. Authorities are now preparing to send the accused to judicial custody as the postmortem reports for the three victims are awaited.
