Jamshedpur, Oct 27: A delegation from the Singhbhum Chamber of Commerce and Industry, led by President Vijay Anand Moonka, recently held discussions with various officials of the Jharkhand Government to address issues related to their respective departments. Honorary General Secretary Manav Kedia shared this information.

As part of this initiative, the delegation met with Sukhdev Singh,  the Chief Secretary . The discussions covered the following topics: The Jharkhand government has not disbursed additional GST payments to contractors since 2017, and the GST rate for contractors in work contracts was raised from 12% to 18% in July 2022. However, the increased GST rate has not been provided to the contractors. The delegation urged prompt decisions and payments to the contractors in this regard.

The Pollution Department is not processing the applications of CTO (Consent to Operate) and CTE (Consent to Establish). The Chief Secretary assured that a meeting of high-ranking officials from all departments would be convened shortly to make decisions on additional GST payments. Furthermore, discussions with the Pollution Department would be held to ensure the execution of CTO and CTE applications.

The delegation requested a survey of lands and houses in the Jugsalai and Mango areas.

The delegation also met with Vandana Dadel, Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister, and raised several important issues:

Measures to prevent the migration of industries in Kolhan and ensure the availability of electricity to DVC (Damodar Valley Corporation) for its development. The high electricity rates in Kolhan are driving industries away or forcing them to close.

Accelerate the establishment of an airport in Kolhan for the overall development of the region.

Suggested changes in land allotment procedures, such as not allocating land up to ten thousand square feet through bidding. Instead, alternative methods like lotteries should be considered, enabling small and new industrialists to acquire land at government rates and promote new industries in the industrial zone.

The establishment of an industrial park in or around Jamshedpur, whether on government land or through land acquisition.

Dadel assured the Chamber that decisions would be taken on the mentioned issues after discussions with relevant department officials, including putting an end to the bidding process for land bank and land allotment up to ten thousand square feet.

Additionally, the delegation met with Santosh Vats, Commissioner of State Tax, and requested an extension of the scheduled date for the Tax Resolution Scheme.

Finally, the Chamber delegation engaged in discussions with Director General of Police Ajay Kumar Singh, regarding law and order in Jamshedpur and other pertinent matters.

The delegation comprised President Vijay Anand Moonka, Honorary General Secretary Manav Kedia and other functionaries
