Jamshedpur, Sept 25: “The singular focus of Team Moonka-Kedia is to serve the interests of traders and promote industrial development,” emphasized Vijay Anand Moonka, the presidential candidate for the Singhbhum Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI) at a press conference organized at The Milanee in Bistupur on Monday.

Highlighting the achievements of his current tenure as SCCI President, Moonka claimed that these had sufficient firepower to garner support of traders that made him confident of his team’s victory at the polls.

Vijay Anand Moonka categorically stated as baseless the opposition’s allegations of voters’ manipulation and intimidation. “Such claims are baseless. They (the opposition team) should be aware that electronic voting system not only makes such tactics impossible. The allegation reveals the opposition’s frustration,” he said.

Moonka recounted some of the key milestones achieved during the past two years, including a historic meeting between the 15-member Chamber team and President Draupadi Murmu, a visit by the Managing Director of Tata Steel and his team to interact with Chamber members at Chamber Bhavan, a workshop organized for vending in Tata Steel, and the Chamber securing a representative position on the Land Allotment Committee.

Candidate for the post of SCCI General Secretary, Manav Kedia, added that the session from 2021 to 2023 saw the organization of 150 programs, including the creation of the Chamber’s mobile app to provide members with convenient access to information.

Responding to queries about priorities, Moonka outlined, “We have a comprehensive agenda initiating land registry in the Tata lease area, negotiating with the government for land mutation in Jugsalai, pursuing the long-pending airport construction, establishing trade clusters, formulating a state-level food export policy, setting up medical stores at Tatanagar station, ensuring insurance facilities for traders, and developing hubs for tourism, education, medicine, and industry.”

The press conference was attended by key members of Team Moonka-Kedia including Vice Presidents Rajeev Agarwal (Tax & Finance) and Puneet Kauntia (Industries), Vice President (PRW) Abhishek Agarwal Goldie, Secretary (Trade & Commerce) Bharat Makhani, Secretary (Tax & Finance) Anshul Ringasia, Secretary (Industries) Vinod Sharma, Secretary (PRW) Lippu Sharma, Treasurer CA Anil Agarwal (Ringasia), and Executive Member candidates.
