Jamshedpur : The nomination process of Singhbhum Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI), a leading representative body of entrepreneurs and small industrial houses based in the Kolhan division, is catching the speed with each passing day.
On Wednesday Deepak Bhalotia filed nomination for the general secretarys post. The election process will conclude on September 24 with the polling.
It may be mentioned that the SCCI has been functioning without the president since May this year after its president Raj Kumar Agarwal was sent to jail for his role in the 2012 Rajya Sabha cash-for-vote scam.
In view of the uncertainty over the release of the president, several members have demanded early elections. The oldest traders body of the state (second in undivided Bihar) SCCI which was constituted in 1950 has close to 1100 members and is the largest body looking after businessmen interest in Kolhan region comprising East Singhbhum, West Singhbhum and Seraikela-Kharsawan districts.
