Jamshedpur, August 3: A delegation of the Singhbhum Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI), led by President Vijay Anand Moonka, met the Secretary of State Tourism Department, Manoj, Kumar and Director Anjali Yadav in Ranchi. The delegation, while highlighting Kolhan’s immense potential presented suggestions for the development of the tourism industry in the region.
Manoj Kumar stated that the Central Government would invest Rs. 100 crore under the Swadesh Yojna for the development of the tourism sector at the Chandil Dam site over the next three to four years. Vijay Anand Moonka informed that a Tourism Conclave would be organized by the Chamber next month to discuss the region’s tourism prospects and implementation.
The delegation, which included Honorary General Secretary Manav Kedia, Vice President Advocate Rajiv Agarwal, Puneet Kauntia, Abhishek Agarwal Goldy, Secretary Advocate Anshul Ringasia, and Binod Sharma, offered several proposals to enhance tourism in Kolhan.
The delegation suggested several infrastructural steps to attract and enhance tourism and Kolhan’s viable destinations. The suggestions included: Chandil Dam: Establishment of a higher end restaurant catering quality food and beverages; construction of a guest house to attract and accommodate tourists from within and outside the state; introduction of water sports; provision of adequate washroom facilities. Dalma: Development of basic infrastructure like paved roads, street lights, security, drinking water provisions and toilets; enhanced trekking facilities; utilization of natural environs and the ancient Shiva Temple at the Hilltop as prime tourist destinations. Dalma-Dimna Ropeway: Introduction of a ropeway/cable car feature on NH 33 between Hotel Wave International and Dalma or Dimna to boost tourism. Satnala Dam (Dobo): Further development for tourist attraction. Burudih Dam: Provision of boating, water sports, guest house, restaurant, and washrooms for establishing this spot in Ghatshila as a major attraction for tourism. Mahadevshal: Enhancement of infrastructure, including electricity, drinking water, roads, food arrangements, and guest houses, to accommodate devotees visiting the self-manifested Shivling of Lord Shiva near Goilkera in West Singhbhum district.
The Secretary and Director of the State Tourism Department assured the SCCI delegation that the government and department would consider the suggestions and proceed with further development. They confirmed that under the Swadesh Yojna, Chandil Dam would undergo significant development, including water sports, guest houses, and restaurants, with an investment of Rs. 100 crore over the next three to four years.
President Vijay Anand Moonka emphasized that the upcoming Tourism Conclave would discuss the region’s tourism potential and strategies for implementation.
