Jamshedpur, May 22: Delegation of Singhbhum Chamber of Commerce and Industries (SCCI) met Jharkhand finance minister Rameshwar Oraon, submitted memorandum on various subjects and gave suggestions on various issues.
Manav Kedia general secretary said that even after a gap of 6 years, the state government’s contractors are not being paid extra GST due to which they are facing huge financial loss! The Chamber drew the attention of the Finance Minister on this subject.
Secretary finance and taxation Piyush Chowdhary, told that a member of the Chamber had drawn the attention towards the errors in the notice issued by the State Tax Department. A memorandum related to it was given today to finance minister, State tax secretary Vipra Bhal and state tax commissioner Santosh Vats.
The Chamber suggested that on the lines of the Central Government, the State Government should also make it mandatory to put DIN number on every notice.
The name, number, email and office address of the officer issuing the notice must also be written in every notice. The businessman should have the facility that he can reply to the notice online or by mail as well!
The Chamber expressed dissatisfaction over the GST Tribunal not being formed even after almost 6 years have passed.
The Chamber also urged the finance minister to extend the last date of the tax settlement scheme including improving it.
The minister listened to everything seriously and assured to take appropriate action.
