Free entry, live screenings, entertainment and fan activities at Agrico Ground
Jamshedpur, April 17: Cricket enthusiasts in Jamshedpur are set for a thrilling weekend as the Tata IPL Fan Park will be held at Agrico Transport Ground on April 18 and 19. The event aims to recreate a stadium-like atmosphere with live match screenings, entertainment, and fan engagement activities.
IPL matches will be telecast live on giant screens measuring 32 by 18 feet, offering fans an immersive viewing experience. Entry to the venue will begin at 3:00 PM on both days, said Anant Datar Manager of Cricket Operations at the BCCI.
Addressing a press conference at Keenan Stadium on Friday, Datar informed that on Saturday, fans can watch Royal Challengers Bengaluru take on Delhi Capitals at 3:30 PM, followed by Sunrisers Hyderabad versus Chennai Super Kings at 7:30 PM. On Sunday, Kolkata Knight Riders will face Rajasthan Royals at 3:30 PM, while Punjab Kings will play Lucknow Super Giants at 7:30 PM.
Datar further said that entry to the Fan Park is completely free for all visitors. Special stalls are being arranged for children and senior citizens to ensure a comfortable and enjoyable experience for everyone. A lucky draw competition will also be organised, where winners will receive T-shirts autographed by cricketers.
Addressing the media at Keenan Stadium, former JSCA Secretary Rajesh Verma and JSCA treasurer Amitava Ghosh said the initiative is designed to bring fans closer to the excitement of the Indian Premier League. They emphasized that people of all age groups can enjoy the matches free of cost.
The Fan Park will also feature music, food stalls, beverages, merchandise, and interactive activities organised by sponsors. Fans will get opportunities to express their support for their favourite teams and players, making the event a complete celebration of cricket and entertainment in the city.
JSCA officials stated that IPL Fan Parks are being organised across 50 cities in the country this season, with a large turnout expected. They added that the event will provide a unique experience for cricket lovers in Jamshedpur, combining sports, entertainment, and community participation.
