Scattered blood sample vials terrorize Chakradharpur denizens

Jamshedpur, May 8: Terror gripped Chakradharpur in West Singhbhum when vials containing blood samples were found strewn along a nearly one kilometer route on Thana Road in the morning today. Eye witnesses said that bike riding youth had scattered these vials while making their way along Thana Road at 8 am. The plastic vials containing blood samples had stickers with names of persons from whom they had been collected. The news spread like wild fire and residents along Thana Road and the entire Chakradharpur area were gripped with terror.

On receiving information social workers Binod Bhageria, Binod Gupta, Shiv Bhageria, Sadanand Hota, Ward Parshad Dinesh Jena and others reached the spot. They informed the Chakradharpur police station OC Pravin Kumar who on initial findings said that it was the handiwork of mischievous elements. He urged the people to hold their patience.

Gauri Shankar Mahto of Surya Nursing Home too came to the spot and on being requested by the local people, he put on his mask and surgical gloves and started collecting the vials in a polythene bag. While collecting the blood sample vials, it was found that such vials were scattered along a nearly one kilometer road stretch from Thana Road along the police station to the crematorium. Many were found dumped in the refuse bin of the nagar Parishad.

Ward Parshad Dinesh Jena has demanded that the administration should sanitize the entire Chakradharpur area and find out from the stickers name of the people whose blood samples had been collected in the vials and when and where their samples had been collected. The police administration is on its toes and on the lookout for the culprits.
