Jamshedpur, April 13: Students of Jamshedpur Women’s University performed impressively at the 4th Eastern Zone Pickleball Competition held at Khel Gaon in Ranchi from April 10 to April 12, 2026.
Around 240 players from seven states participated in the tournament. Purnima Pramanik and Sneha Kumari from the university were selected to represent the Jharkhand team. The team was coached by Dr. Prabhat Kumar Mahto, while R. Teja served as the team manager.
The Jharkhand team secured second place in the Open Doubles Pickleball category, marking a significant achievement for the state and the university.
Vice-Chancellor Prof. Ila Kumar congratulated the students and wished them success in future competitions. Dr. Sanatan Deep, Chairman of the Sports and Cultural Committee, also appreciated the team’s performance.
