Savan festival celebrated at Vijaya Garden

Jamshedpur: Savan Jhula Mahotsava was celebrated with fervour at Vijaya Garden, Baridih, on Saturday by a group of local women. Many children were also present on the occasion. The participants enjoyed swinging on a jhula (swing ride made of ropes hanging from tree branches) which was decorated with flowers. Clad in traditional clothes, the women also participated in various contests including Antakshari, Paheli Bujho and a dance competition. An 85 year old woman, Sharda Devi, was also honoured during the event.
The event organizers included Babita Kumar, Priyanka Verma, Nidhi Srivastava, Meeta Pal, Veena Jha, Munni Devi, Shakuntala Sharma and Jyotsna.
