Jamshedpur, Jan 24:  Jamshedpur East MLA Saryu Roy has requested Jharkhand chief minister Hemant Soren to debar multiplex, coaching institutions and cinema halls from Covid-19 imposed restrictions and allow them to function.

In a letter to the chief minister on Sunday, Saryu Roy pointed that if the markets, school and colleges are allowed to open then coaching institutions and cinema halls should also be allowed to operate so that persons employed in such places can eke out their living.

The MLA has said that there is no harm in allowing institutions to open albeit with conditions of abiding with Covid-19 norms and regulations.

Significantly, several students and aspirants for various professions take help of coaching institutions to fine tune their preparations and these institutions also generate employment for thousands of educated youths and similarly cinema halls provide direct and indirect employment to thousands of youths.

The MLA has also reminded that there has been no meeting on relaxation of Covid-19 norms in line with the Union government directives in the month of January so the relaxation of Union government given at the end of December has not been allowed in Jharkhand otherwise cinema halls and coaching institutions could also become functional.

The letter urges the chief minister to call meeting of the state level committee for disaster management and relief at the earliest and take a proper decision keeping in view interest of youths and masses linked with coaching institutions and cinema halls.
