Saryu Roy pays tribute to Sidho-Kanhu on Hul Diwas

Jamshedpur, June 30: The BJMO ST Morcha celebrated Hul Diwas at Sidho-Kanhu Chowk in Birsanagar Zone No-1, under the leadership of ST Morcha President Prakash Koya and Birsanagar Mandal President Shankar Karmakar. The event witnessed the presence of esteemed guest Jamshedpur East MLA Saryu Rai, who paid homage by garlanding the statue of Sido-Kanhu. MLA Shri Rai was warmly welcomed by ST Morcha Mandal President Surah Hembrom, who adorned him with a traditional turban.

During the commemorative event, Roy highlighted the historic significance of June 30, 1855, when Sidho-Kanhu, along with Chand-Bhairav and Phoolon-Jhan, sounded the clarion call for a movement against British rule, leading to the sacrifice of numerous lives. Roy announced plans to develop the Sidho-Kanhu statue site at Birsanagar as a memorial, preserving the memory of the brave revolutionaries.

The gathering witnessed the presence of notable personalities, including BJMO District President Subodh Srivastava, Vikas Gupta, Prakash Koya, Shankar Karmakar, Bhagwat Mukherjee, Suraj Hembrom, Rajan Kujur, Prasanjit Singh, Rahul Sinha, Sanjay Kalindi, Raju Lohar, Raju Karmakar, Ajay Kumar, Pradeep Roy, Jitendra Kumar, Pinky Biswas, Rekha Mahanandi, Khusbu Devi, Vinod Yadav, Moni Nag, Janaki Gope, Prem Ranjan Ghosh, Revati Devi, Mahuva Chakraboti, Ram Singh Munda, and Raju Khalko. The event was marked by reverence for the historic Hull Revolution and the courageous leaders who fought against British colonialism. The presence of MLA Saryu Roy added significance to the occasion, with his heartfelt tribute to Sidho-Kanhu symbolizing the spirit of the revolutionary movement. The commitment to preserving the memory of Sidho-Kanhu through the development of the memorial site at Birsanagar underscores the importance of honoring the sacrifices made by these heroes in the struggle for freedom.
