Jamshedpur, Oct 13: A brand new car, a Toyota Innova, worth Rs 16 lakh has been purchased for the Vice Chancellor of Jamshedpur Women’s University (JWU), Dr Anjila Gupta. The purchase was reportedly made through the Government e Marketplace (GeM) portal of the state government. This has saved 34 per cent GST to the university. The VC reached the Bistupur campus of JWU in the new car on Wednesday. Meanwhile, a meeting of Board of Governors of JWU was held to discuss proposals for miscellaneous purchases planned by the university. It was decided to get approval of the higher education department to pave way for the purchases.
