Saryu inaugurates water supply in Birsanagar

Jamshedpur, March 16: Jamshedpur East MLA Saryu Roy inaugurated the water supply from Moharda water supply project in Zone No 7 of Birsanagar on Wednesday. He opened the valve to start the supply to local households.

Addressing the people, he said he was committed to providing adequate and clean drinking water to the local residents. He said the water tank was built simultaneously with the Moharda water supply project but due to political reluctance and neglect, it was not used. He said water supply to 700 households had resumed today.

Roy also visited local households to inquire about electricity supply. He assured to provide all basic amenities to the residents round-the-clock. He said there are eight water tanks in the area that have been cleaned on his request. Local residents are being supplied clean drinking water twice daily, he said.

Govt sanctions Rs 1.67 cr for Adivasi High School project

Jamshedpur, March 16: State government has given approval for the proposed construction of eight rooms at Adivasi High School, Bhalubasa. A fund of Rs 1.67 crore has been granted for this purpose. Tender process has been started for the construction work. This information was given on behalf of the state government to a question raised in the Jharkhand Assembly by Jamshedpur East MLA Saryu Roy.

Earlier, in 2008-09, Rs 1.37 crore was approved for the project. But the fund was returned to the government in May 2019 due to delay in construction work. In August 2019, eight rooms of the school were demolished. Academic activities are hampered in the school ever since, said Roy.
