At the grand 31-foot Sarvajanik Saraswati Puja Pandal in Baridih, the idol was adorned beautifully, attracting large crowds. While many celebrated today, others are set to hold their observances on the auspicious day determined by astrological calculations on Feb 3. The puja festivities included devotional songs, bhajans, and a community feast (bhandara), bringing together people from all walks of life.

A heartwarming sight was young girls dressed in traditional sarees, emulating the goddess and flocking to pandals and schools with great enthusiasm. “It’s a way to express our devotion and celebrate the spirit of learning,” said a student participating in the celebrations.

At Jamshedpur Women’s University, girl students dressed in vibrant sarees gathered to pay their respects to Goddess Saraswati with great reverence. The campus was adorned with beautiful floral decorations, and students performed Saraswati Vandana while offering prayers for wisdom and success in their academic pursuits. Many students also participated in a special cultural program featuring devotional songs and dance performances dedicated to the goddess. “Worshipping Maa Saraswati fills us with positivity and inspiration to excel in our studies,” said a student from the university.

Apart from the religious rituals, the city saw unique traditions being observed, including Vidyarambh Sanskar for children. The Golpahari Gayatri Shakti Peeth performed a special Yagyopaveet (thread ceremony), while several temples organized Saraswati Vandana and devotional programs.
