Seraikela: Deputy Commissioner Arva Rajkamal took quick cognizance of the lathi-charge by the police during the road. He held talks with the agitating journalists in his office room located at the District Collectorate in the presence of Superintendent of Police Anand Prakash. During the conversation both the officials expressed their regret over the misbehavior done by the Gamharia station in-charge to the journalists and assured that it would not be repeated in future.
Along with this, it was decided to send Gamharia station in-charge on leave for five days. Meanwhile, an inquiry committee was constituted under the leadership of Seraikela SDO Ram Krishna Kumar and SDPO Chandan Vas and assured to take necessary action after conducting a fair investigation of the entire matter within four days.
Both the officials assured to maintain strong relations between the police administration and journalists in the district in future. While agreeing to postpone the indefinite sit-in demonstration program on the spot, the journalists were assured of working in coordination with each other. The Press Club of Seraikela Kharsawan district president Manmohan Singh Rajput and All India Small and Medium Journalists Association’s Bihar Jharkhand and Bengal in-charge Pritam Singh Bhatia were present.
