Saraikela, May 15: The vaccination drive for persons between the ages of 18 years and above got off on Friday, May 14 in Saraikela-Kharsawan district but bungling in data entry emerged at the initial stage. A case in point is that of Yogesh Kumar Mundhra who had booked a slot for inoculation and he had been allotted the vaccine centre at Swarnrekha Inspection Building in Adityapur. However, Mundhra could not reach the centre at the appointed time but when he reached the place for inoculation on Saturday, he was declined vaccination on the ground that he had already received his shot. A message also had appeared on his registered mobile number to the effect. When he told the health worker at the centre about the slip up, he was told that the data entered showed that he had already received his vaccination. Yogesh Kumar Mundhra wondered as to how it was possible when he had not been vaccinated. The health worker concerned stated that when the record showed that Mundhra had already been vaccinated how could she administer the vaccine again. when the Nodal Officer was contacted he said that it was a human error and directed the vaccination centre in Adityapur to inoculate Yogesh Kumar Mundhra who was then provided the shot. Such errors are points of concern which, if not nipped in the bud, could lead to other mistakes in future.
