Jamshedpur, May 16: In order to control the COVID spread in rural areas of East Singhbhum district, Deputy Commissioner Suraj Kumar has formed a task force that will monitor and take necessary steps to contain the viral intrusion in villages. The task force to be headed by the DDC will include District Project Officer, District Community Welfare Officer, District Panchayat Raj Officer and District manager of JSLPS.
DC Suraj Kumar has directed the special task force to take note of villagers with complaints of cold, cough, fever and typhoid symptoms at panchayat levels and make them undergo COVID tests. The task force has been instructed to arrange for the isolation of COVID positive patients and in case of the seriously infected ones to arrange for their immediate hospitalization for proper medical attention.
The control rooms established at Block levels will have to provide daily reports to the task force and inform the district control cell. The Deputy Commissioner has urged in writing that all Pradhans, panchayat executive committees, panchayat Samiti members and Zila Parishad representatives extend their services to block the coronavirus infection from spreading further.
The DC has ordered that COVID awareness campaigns be intensified in villages so that they undergo COVID tests and simultaneously get vaccinated as both are necessary to ward off infections of the viral disease. The order comes on the heels of the COVID threats in rural areas due to the lack of awareness of the disease symptoms.
