Santhal call Jharkhand bandh on July 4

Jamshedpur, July 3. A meeting of Olchiki Hul Baisi was held under the supervision of Majhi Baba Bhokta Hansda at Purihasa, Sundernagar.

It was unanimously decided to make the Jharkhand bandh called on 4th July a success. Majhi Baba Bhokta Hansda said that the villagers will come on the road to save tribalism. During this, the people of Santal community will be with traditional weapons and drums.

Rail, road, business establishments and schools will be closed.

 All the preparations for the closure have been completed in every zone. On Monday evening, an appeal will be made to take out torchlight processions in all the major zones. A large number of villagers participated in the meeting.

In Gudrubasa, the people belonging to the Adivasi community put up a board written Adivasi Jahera Puja Sthal at their place of worship. During this, took a pledge to preserve and promote our old civilization and culture. Diuri (priest) of the society Rengo Sundi and Sanjay Samad said that the tribal society is also involved in the race for modernity. Because of this, they are staying away from the society by forgetting the rules and regulations made by their forefathers. A large number of people of the society participated in the programme.

National President of Adivasi Sengel Abhiyan Salkhan Murmu said that JMM’s B team in the name of Olchiki Hul Baisi has called for Jharkhand bandh on July 4. In the campaign meeting organized in Karandih on Sunday, Salkhan Murmu said that if CM Hemant Soren wanted, under Section-345, a resolution can be passed in the assembly to make Santali the first official language. In this way reading and learning can start automatically in Olchiki script.
