Jamshedpur, August 1: The five-day Santali traditional musical instruments and dance music workshop, was inaugurated on August 1 at Utkramit Madhya Vidyalaya in Tangrain. The event was organized by the school’s headmaster Arvind Tiwari, along with social workers Jayhari Munda, Ujjwal Mandal, and Shankar Hembram, under the joint aegis of Tata Steel Foundation and Adivasi Romoj Akhara.
The project’s coordinator stated that the primary objective of the workshop was to preserve and promote the vanishing tribal traditional culture. During the training, participants would be taught the basics of playing musical instruments, dance, and music, thereby fostering deep interest and enthusiasm among children for their cultural heritage.
Babulal Goipai is the program coordinator for the workshop, with Nunaram Murmu, Kashinath Soren, Savana Tudu, Dumni Murmu, Niraso Tudu, Sangeeta Samad, and Mrs. Mardi as trainers.
