Sankalp puja kicks off 74th Saastha Preeti celebrations

Jamshedpur, March 14: The 74th Saastha Preeti celebrations commenced at Sri Uttara Sabarimala Dharma Saastha Temple in Bistupur on Monday, March 14.   

As part of this, a Sankalp puja has been performed in which PN Sankaran, Chairman of Sri Dharma Saastha Temple sought blessings from Sri Dharma Saastha and taken a vow to perform the Saastha Preethi celebrations. 

The pujas and havan during the course of six days commencing from 15th to 20th March will be held at the Temple premises under the guidance of Vijay Bhanu, who is a learned and Ved pandit arrived from Chennai. 12 Ved pandits from Chennai, Mumbai and Hyderabad have been invited to perform the pujas and havan. 

As part of Saastha Preeti celebrations, the pujas and havan will be started with a customary havan for Sri Ganesh, followed by Rudra Ekadasha jap, Kalash sthapana and Kalash puja.  At the conclusion of the pujas, Kalash abhishek will be performed by the Ved pandits for all presiding deities at the Temple.  Vasordhara and Purnahuti will also be conducted on all the days.  In the evenings, Ved parayan, Bhagavati Seva and Sri Satyanarayana pujas will be held during the period.

On the occasion, N Rammurthy, President, KGP Nair, Vice-President, KS Jayaraman, Hony Secretary, AS Visweswaran and S Siva Kumar, Joint Secretary and all committee members were present.
