Jamshedpur, Dec 17: The murder of sand trader Sujay Nandi near a crowded area of S Type Chowk in Adityapur is creating fear amongst builders, traders and white collared criminals in the Adityapur area as the gang of Krishna Gope, currently in jail, assumed to be involved in the killing is slowly increasing its activity in the area.
Significantly, Krishna Gope is operating his gang from jail and the police do not have inkling of it, putting a question mark over intelligence network of the local police. If a person is killed for giving witness in the court then it raises serious question mark on the local police efficiency.
Local trader question that if Sujoy Nandi was being targeted and had faced several attempts on his life, then the police should have provided adequate security for the trader and also indicates the high morale of the criminal gangs. The easy manner in which the criminals escaped after killing the sand trader also poses a question on the activity of the police.
More than 24 hours have lapsed since the crime and the police has not been able to nab the culprits. Though police claims to have detained several persons on basis of suspicion.
Incidentally, the name of Krishna Gope also surfaced in the killing of Moni Das in Telco but no action was taken by the police in putting the criminal lodged in jail under radar.
