Shop gutted in fire at Ghatshila

Jamshedpur, Dec 17: A major accident was averted when a closed shop near Bank of India in Ghatshila main market caught fire in the wee hours of Thursday at around 3.30 am.

The entire shop was charred in the fire mishap, though no casualty was reported as the shop was closed during that and there was not much good inside it. Exact reason for the fire is yet to be ascertained, but locals allege that short circuit might be the possible reason of the fire mishap.

According to locals, a tea shop owner Munmun Pandey who was going early in the morning to open shop noticed the smoke and flame from the closed shop and immediately informed the police and the police in turn informed the Ghatshila fire station unit. The fire tenders doused the flames after lot of effort. Fortunately, the flames from the shop did not spread to nearby shops otherwise it could have led to a major fire disaster.
