Sakchi Market traders seek security against thieves

Jamshedpur: Members of Retail Merchant Welfare Association here on Friday expressed worry over the recent rise in theft incidents in the city. The outfit general secretary Sandeep Burman said the city police should step up patrolling in and around market places in the city, especially in Sakchi Market to prevent frequent thefts. He also stressed the need for the appointment of security guards at night to prevent such incidents.

The outfit president Sarabjeet Singh said a toilet should also be constructed in the Sakchi Market for the convenience of shopkeepers, vendors and visitors. He said the Association would meet Jusco officials to demand installation of LED lights in the streets.

The Association members today held a meeting to discuss their security concerns. Among those present at the meeting included Umesh Prasad, Somnath Tiwary, Aroop Roy and Shanku Das.
