Jamshedpur, Feb 2: Abhaya Banerjee Foundation organised fourth edition of the annual sports meet for the special children at Sumant Moolgaonkar Stadium on Wednesday. Chief Guest for the occasion Tarun Daga, managing director, Tinplate Company along with his wife Varsha Daga, declared the meet open. In his address, Tarun Daga praised the foundation for hosting the sports meet and met the children.
Total of 41 sporting events were held during the day. The children were divided into four groups and six categories. The winners were awarded gold, silver, bronze medals along with certificates. Tarun Daga handed over the medals and certificates to the winners. President of Abhaya Banerjee Foundation Dr. Johar Banerjee thanked everyone for their support.
Total of 125 girls and boys from different schools and centres run around the city for special children participated. Students from School of Hope Bistupur, School of Joy ISWP, Asha Kiran Telco, Start Telco, PAMJH Dhatkidih, Jeevika Sonari, Sidheshwar Deaf and Dumb School Baridih, National Association of Blind Baradwari, Divya Jyoti Blind Institute Kadma were part of the sports meet.
To make the event successful , all the officials of the foundation along with Bandana Jain, Barnali Das, Sushma Pandey, Akansha Panda, Rashmi Srivastav, Kunal Kar, Tata Motors Sports Department and others.
