Jamshedpur, March 5: Tata Steel observed 51st National Safety Day while kicking off National Safety Week campaign which will be celebrated till March 10.
The National Safety Day is observed on March 4, every year to mark the Foundation Day of The National Safety Council (NSC). This year’s theme is “Nurture young minds, Develop safety culture “.
Sanjiv Paul, Vice President, Safety, Health and Sustainability unfurled the safety flag and took the Safety pledge along with the Safety professional to affirm and rededicate themselves to the cause of safety, health and protection of the environment at Safety Health Environment Excellence Centre (SHE Centre) in Jamshedpur works and inaugurated the weeklong campaign.
In his address, VP-SHS appreciated the efforts of safety professionals in the safety excellence journey. He further reminded that safety professionals are custodians of safety of workforce and should always put their efforts to prevent the incidents to achieve objective of “Zero Harm”.
Neeraj Kumar Sinha, Chief Safety, set the context for the weeklong safety campaign. He detailed out the list of activities and contests lined up during the campaign, with emphasis of reaching out to all workers on shop floor.
Jay Shanker Singh, the Union representative of Safety Department proposed vote of thanks.
