Jamshedpur, Dec. 16: Sacred Heart Convent School has been crowned the winner of Rita Narayan Memorial inter-school quiz competition, organised by Rotary Club of Jamshedpur West at United Club on Sunday, December 15. The annual event is conducted in memory of late Rotary member Rita Narayan. Students from 24 schools participated in the contest.
Rajendra Vidyalaya emerged as the runner-up while Kerala Samajam Model School (KSMS) and Motilal Nehru Memorial School (MNPS) were joint third.
Initially a preliminary round was held which saw four teams progress to the final. The Rita Narayan Memorial quiz was conducted by Rotary Spouse Sujata Mitra. Along with the Club President Shweta Chand , Past President Raghvendra Mathur, Neena Mathur, Rakesh Chand, K.M.Gandhi and other Rotarians were present to make the successful.
Shweta Chand, president of Rotary Club of Jamshedpur West informed that Past President Om Narayan sponsors this event in fond memories of his wife every year. “Late Rita Narayan was a very active member of the club and was the wife of Om Narayan, former managing director of Tayo Rolls,” added Chand.
