Jamshedpur, August 18: A 17-year-old girl Ananya Pal, a resident of East Bengal Colony under Sitaramdera police station, committed suicide by hanging herself. The incident took place on Thursday night at 8 pm.
After getting the information on Friday morning, the police reached the spot and took the dead body into custody and sent it for postmortem. Ananya was the only daughter of the family and was a class 11 student of the Sacred Heart Convent School.
Ananya’s father Prasenjit Pal is a Tata Motors employee and is also a sculptor by profession.
According to the information received, the father was at work at the time of the incident while the mother was preparing for Mansa Puja. After completing the preparation, when she went to Ananya’s room, she found the door of the room locked from inside. He informed the neighbors about this. When the door was broken open, Ananya’s body was found hanging inside. The relatives are unable to tell about the reasons for the suicide.
