Ruchi and Jasraj win best rider award at Jamshedpur Horse Show

Vanshika, Nihit Agarwal, Darsh, Anushka and Mohammad Afzaal shine at Horse Riding School

 Jamshedpur Horse Show organised by Tata Steel Sports Department

Jamshedpur, Feb 4: Tata Steel Sports Department organised second edition of Jamshedpur Horse Show at Horse Riding School. The annual event provided a wonderful platform to introduce children to competitive riding and promote equestrian sports. The participation of 78 riders reflected the widespread interest in this exciting sport. The best rider in the 16-45-year-old category was awarded to Jasraj Virk and the best rider in the 16-45-year-old (senior girls) category was awarded to Ruchi Verma.

The show witnessed a diverse range of events, catering to children and open competitions for all age groups. Show Jumping, hacks, tent pegging and Gymkhana events like pole bending race, stick-and-ball race and ball-and-buckets race were held during the show. The event was judged by esteemed members from the Equestrian Federation of India.

The opening act by junior riders and the show jumping and tent pegging by junior and senior riders were main attraction.

The event received high praise from Chief Guest Ruchi Narendran, who congratulated both the participants and organizers for their roles in making it a resounding success. She specifically highlighted the exceptional performance of the young participants, indicating her strong impression of their abilities.

Chanakya Chaudhary, Vice president, Corporate Services, Tata Steel said that the event serves as a significant platform for fostering interest in equestrian sports and nurturing talent among the younger generation. He added that sports department is working towards acquiring additional horses to enhance the School’s inventory as well as to ensure that the training and participation requirements are met for various equestrian sports including jumping, dressage and tent pegging.

This event stands as a testament to the remarkable growth experienced by the Tata Steel Horse Riding School since its establishment in 1994. With over 150 regular subscribers and a daily footfall of 50 to 60 riders, there is a clear indication of a growing interest in equestrian sports within the city.

The school’s active participation in various competitions across India, coupled with its notable achievements, serves as a driving force to continue enhancing the facilities and infrastructure available. Additionally, the Sports Department is committed to working towards increasing membership and bolstering participation in national tournaments, thereby further promoting equestrian sports.
