Mail News Service

Jamshedpur, May 28: Thieves targeted the public Akhada Temple in Lohar Line, Sonari, during the night and stole approximately Rs 50,000 in cash from the donation box. The temple, located near the public toilet behind the Gudri Market, is reportedly surrounded by anti-social elements and drug addicts who gather there frequently at night.

Residents suspect these habitual offenders may be involved in the theft. The temple committee has urged the local administration to increase night patrolling in the area to prevent further criminal incidents.

Community members expressed concern that such crimes threaten the area’s peace and sanctity, particularly when they target places of worship. They called on police to investigate thoroughly and implement security measures to restore public confidence.
