Four arrested in Jamshedpur chain snatching case; melted gold recovered

Jamshedpur, May 28: Sidhgora police have cracked a chain snatching case by arresting four accused involved in the crime. The arrested include Shankar Mahato alias Suraj (21) from Mango Teachers’ Colony, Vishal Singh alias Nadu (19) from Old Purulia Road in Azadnagar, Mohit Varman (21) from Gurudwara Road in Mango and Vishal Kumar Soni (31) from Mango. According to police, three of the four accused have prior criminal records.

During the operation, police recovered a melted portion of the stolen gold chain, a motorcycle used in the crime, two mobile phones, a bank passbook and an ATM card. The arrests followed an extensive investigation led by DSP Headquarters-1, which included reviewing CCTV footage to track the culprits.

City SP briefed the media on Wednesday, stating that all four accused have been sent to judicial custody. The successful operation highlights the police’s swift action and effective surveillance in cracking down on urban crime.
