Rs 31K power bill for poor elderly in Jamshedpur

Jamshedpur, November 9: Electricity department of Jharkhand has sent two bills of Rs 31,000 to a poor old person Muchiram Nayak, living in a hut in Dakui village of Chandanpur Panchayat located in Chakulia.

The elderly stays alone and uses only one bulb. He doesn’t even have a fan. The electricity department has sent the first bill of Rs 13816 and the second bill of Rs 17057. The consumer number is different in both the bills. The name of the consumer is shown as Muchiram Nayak, Pitajudi Nayak.

 Muchiram told that the electricity department employees reached his house to disconnect his electricity by showing fake bills.

Muchi Ram’s electricity connection was disconnected about six months ago.

Complaining about this, he reached the electricity department office several times. He could not meet the department official even once.

Muchiram complained about this matter to BDO in-charge Upendra Kumar who had reached the village recently.

Villagers say that the electricity department is making irregularities in sending the bills. At the same time, there is no hearing on complaints.
