Ranchi: Cash worth Rs 1.66 crore has been seized so far from different districts of the state ahead of the Lok Sabha elections.
Election Commission sources said Rs 2.56 lakh was seized from Ramgarh district from Tunu Lal Mahato, Nirmal Kumar and Mohammad Hasan.
Rs 25 lakh transferred to AJSu by Pradip Prasad was seized from Hazaribagh. The EC has set up as many as 250 checkposts across the state to stop misuse of money in elections.
Vehicles are being inspected at these checkposts to keep an eye on cash transfer and other illegal activities such as arms supply, sources said.
