Jamshedpur: To provide relief to citizens and commuters battling the scorching summer heat, the Rotary Club of Jamshedpur NextGen is successfully operating its “Water on Wheels 2.0” campaign. Under this initiative, the club travels across the city to distribute chilled drinking water to daily-wage labourers, pedestrians, and others in need.
The campaign received a boost when Saryu Roy, MLA, Jamshedpur West, social worker Shiv Shankar Singh, and Mukesh Mittal, President, East Singhbhum District Marwari Sammelan, attended the event to appreciate the initiative and encourage the team.
The Rotary Club of Jamshedpur NextGen, inaugurated in 2024 under Rotary International District 3250, aims to channel youth energy into community service. It provides a platform where doctors, lawyers, chartered accountants, engineers, startup founders, and young entrepreneurs collaborate to bring positive social change. By offering leadership opportunities, the club fosters social responsibility among the youth.
Key members present at the event included:
- President: Animesh Chapolia
- Sergeant at Arms: Anand Prakash
- Members: Aman Jalan, Sourav Moonka, and others.
The club’s young members expressed their heartfelt gratitude to Saryu Roy, Shiv Shankar Singh, Mukesh Mittal, Akash Shah, Ankush Jawanpuria, Lokesh Jawanpuria, and Akshay Khurana. They noted that the dignitaries not only spared valuable time to guide the team but also set an example of service by personally distributing water to passersby.
