Jamshedpur, July 7: Rotary Club of Jamshedpur and Rotary Club of Jamshedpur West with the support of Seraikela-Kharsawan district administration vaccinated 33,864 people of the rural areas in 180 days.
DC and his team provided support and assistance in making the drive successful. The vaccination centre which was inaugurated on 12th August 2021 continued the vaccination drive till 31st March 2022.
Rotary member informed, “We started the drive to support the underprivileged of Seraikela-Kharsawan District, who can’t access Covid Vaccination for various reasons. Free inoculation camp was held at Rotary Rural Covid Care Centre at Kerala Public School and Community Centre at Durga Maidan, Gamharia.”
He said that the rural Covid Care Centre was running under the leadership of Dr Amit Mukherjee, Convener Shweta Chand, President Madhumita Santra and President Rajesh Kumar.
Rotary Club organised a function at Kerala Public School, Gamharia on Wednesday to felicitate volunteers and Covid warriors who played vital role in making the drive successful.
Arava Rajkamal, DC, Seraikela-Kharsawan and Past District Governor RI District 3250 Pratim Banerjee were Chief Guest and Sharat Chandran, Director, Kerala Public Schools was Guest of Honour.
During the event, Singrai Besra, Pradhan of Murgaghutu Village, Janta Mahato, Pradhan of Mohanpur and Musikudar Village, Badal Hembram and Naresh Kumar, Pradhan and Mukhiya of Saldih Village and School Teacher Manisha Tudu actively participated and took the initiative in educating the Rural people on Vaccination.
