Jamshedpur, July 7: The District Administration has decided to beef up security arrangements in view of Eid-ul-Azha on Sunday. A total of 1500 police personnel would be deployed in the city as part of security arrangements for peaceful observance of the festival.
DC Vijaya Jadhav said that they have reviewed the security arrangements planned for the day. “In several police personnel would be deployed for peaceful observance of Eid festival and to provide adequate security to the people here,” he said. He told reporters that CRPF, RAF, policemen and home guards are also being deployed.

Pickets would be posted and round-the-clock patrolling done to maintain law and order, he said, adding peace committee meetings have been held with various communities, who have assured cooperation for peaceful observance of the festival.
SSP M Tamil Vanan also instructed to make effective police picketing and snap checking on the exits and entrances of sensitive parts of the city and take important steps for police mobile, motorcycle on on-foot patrolling to keep close vigil on suspected elements.

East Singhbhum administration has ordered deployment of around 1500 strong force of district police accompanied by Rapid Action Force (RAF) jawans at strategic locations in communally sensitive pockets of city especially in Mango, Sakchi, Jugsalai, Shastrinagar (in Kadma), Dhatkidih (in Bistupur), Masjid Road (in Golmuri) and Bhalubasa (in Sitaramdera). Entry of heavy vehicles to the city would be prohibited from 6 am till 11 pm on Sunday.
The official said that the district police authorities had been asked to ensure no stray animals like bulls, dogs and pigs came near places of worship while namaz was being offered on Sunday (Eid-ul-Azha). He said they had been asked to ensure no prohibited animals were sacrificed in their jurisdictions. Moreover, it was to be ensured that nobody indulged in cow slaughter or in rumours of cow slaughter.

He said the police alertness was required more as Muslim as well Hindu communities would be observing their religious beliefs in the upcoming month and any negligence even in small tiffs may snowball or lead to a major law and order problem. He said the Kanwar Yatra was going on during the month of Sawan hence special care should be taken that there was no flare-up in sensitive areas.
