Jamshedpur, August 28: On the eve of Raksha Bhandan, members of Rotary club of Jamshedpur Femina gathered at the Army Camp in Sonari to tie the traditional Rakhi on the wrists of army jawans from Armed forces.
There were 45 jawans with few officers present at the ceremony.
Rotary Femina President Sonal Agrawal said, “Armed forces protect our country not only in times of war but also during crisis like floods and other natural calamities.
It was a small gesture on our part to acknowledge their contribution and to make them feel at home that we decided to celebrate the festival with jawans.”
She took the lead to tie the Rakhis. Sharing his experience, one of the officer stated that not always they celebrate this festival at home because they don’t get leave and are away from their homes.
It was a great experience for everyone to witness the special bond, the thread of love shared between the civilians and the armed forces.
Members present at the event were president Sonal Agrawal, Shashi Gadia, Geeta Dubey, Dr.Rashmi, Neha Agrawal, Babita Kedia, Reena, Simple, Monideepa, Navita, Jasmine, Rashmi Singh and Vandana.
