Jamshedpur, July 28: Rotary Club of Jamshedpur, one of the oldest clubs in District 3250 comprising Bihar-Jharkhand has announced the new executive committee for the session 2022-23. Satnam Kapula has been appointed President of the club, said District Governor Sanjeev Thakur.
Addressing a press meet at Beldih Club on Thursday, Thakur stated, “For the first time in 117-year history of Rotary, Jennifer Jones became Rotary International’s first woman president.”
Newly appointed President of the club, Satnam Kapula informed about work done by the previous teams and their future course of action.
“New Rotary International President Jennifer Jones has picked ‘Imagine Rotary’ as the theme for her tenure as president. The focus will be on clean water, sanitisation, environment conservation, basic education and health care,” said Kapula.
“Our special focus will be on environment as global warming is, quite literally, a hot topic and we must ensure our participation in tackling the issue of climate change,” she added.
She further said that efforts are being made to reach out to maximum people who can reap in benefits of the club activities. Also present at the press conference were PDG R Bharat, club secretary Mangilal Chawla.
Later, the new committee took charge and Satnam Kapula was sworn in as the President of the club.
