Jamshedpur, July 28: Central Public School in Adityapur, Jamshedpur has introduced Jharkhand’s first Red Ball (Stage-3) Mini Tennis Coaching Program.
The program was jointly launched by Hare Ram Singh, Chairman of C.P.S., Chandra Singh, President of C.P.S., Moushumi, Principal and Rishi from All India Tennis Association (AITA).
“This is the first time that any school from the State of Jharkhand has taken the initiative to introduce such a unique coordination building program into their school curriculum,” said Hare Ram Singh while addressing a press meet in the school premises on Thursday.
School Principal Moushumi informed that Red Ball (Stage-3) Mini Tennis Coaching Program will start from the first week of August 2022 and will be under the supervision of one of the most reputed coaching teams of India, Vision Search Tennis Academy.
Talking to the media, Rishi from AITA said, Mini Tennis Coaching Program is for children in the age group, 4 to 8 years. It is played on smaller courts, smaller racquets (19 inches) and softer balls that bounce more slowly to give children more time and it’s just like real tennis, just made to be the right size for the children.
“With children these days inclined towards gadgets, Mini Tennis Coaching Program will be boon for students to step out learn and develop technique, build coordination and have fun. The children start to learn proper warm ups, develop technique, learn how to compete and burn some energy,” Rishi added.
He informed that the program is new in this part of India but it is more common in Western and Southern part of the country with Pune and Bengaluru leading. We aim to make a good start and take tennis to the grassroots level and hope many schools will follow suit, Rishi added.
