Jamshedpur, July 2: The Rotary Club of Jamshedpur East marked the beginning of the New Rotary Year by organizing a blood donation camp at the MGM Hospital Blood Bank. The event was graced by Chief Guest Dr. (Prof) K.N. Singh, Principal of MGM Medical College, and Guest of Honour Dr. Ravindra Kumar, Superintendent of MGM Medical College Hospital, Jamshedpur. Other senior officers from MGM Hospital were also present.
In the spirit of ‘Service Above Self,’ the Incoming President of the Rotary Club of Jamshedpur East, Subhrajit Basu, along with First Lady and Joint Secretary Nidhi Basu, Secretary Vikas Singh, and other club members, participated by donating blood and encouraging others to join.
The inaugural ceremony featured the lighting of the lamp and speeches by the Chief Guest, Guest of Honour, and President Rotarian Subhrajit Basu. Rotarian Punit Kauntia moderated the inaugural programme. Distinguished members from the Rotary Club, including Jayanti Datt (Director of Service Projects), Dr. Anup Gupta (Chief Bulletin Editor), and senior Rotarians O.P. Chopra, Kailash Singhania, Madan Behari, V.K. Tulsyan, V.K. Kohli, P.M. Dutta, Dr. S.S. Razi, Dr. Jahar Banerjee, Balminder Singh, Punit Kauntia, and Kunal Kar, were also present.
In addition, the Rotary Club of Jamshedpur East sponsored a healthy lunch at the Ashirwad Bhavan Old Age Home in Sakchi. Club members joined the residents for lunch, showing care and support. This project highlighted the club’s dedication to the care of senior citizens.
The camp successfully collected 50 units of blood, showcasing the community’s commitment towards saving lives.
