Jamshedpur, January 4: Rotary Club of Jamshedpur West organised a Mega Health Camp at its adopted village Chimti Paharia in Bodam, Patamda, on Saturday with the aim of promoting health awareness and providing basic medical services to rural residents. The camp witnessed encouraging participation from villagers.
The main focus of the camp was to create awareness and conduct screening for Postpartum Hemorrhage (PPH), Anemia and Thalassemia, which remain major health concerns in rural areas. Through this initiative, the club aimed at early detection of health issues and providing timely medical advice to prevent complications.

A total of 88 villagers benefited from the camp. Medical screening facilities were provided for blood pressure, blood sugar, hemoglobin levels, height and weight. Doctors present at the camp offered consultations and free medicines were distributed to patients in need.
The programme saw the active involvement of 12 Rotarians along with a five-member medical team, who together contributed 41.5 man-hours of voluntary service. Awareness sessions were also conducted to educate villagers about the causes, symptoms and prevention of PPH, Anemia and Thalassemia.
Villagers appreciated the initiative and said such camps play an important role in improving healthcare awareness and access in rural areas.
