Jamshedpur, Nov 19: Unruly scenes marked the day at the Bhuyandih Humpipe area of Sitaramdera police station area in protest against drug addicts and drug trade.
People protested and blocked the road. Soon after the incident a team from Sitaramdera police station reached the spot.
On Friday morning, a young man named Roshan Kumar ransacked a tea-snacks shop for extortion.The police did not take action on the complaint, due to which the morale of the drug addicts is increasing.
In this regard, Hotel Operator Upendra Saw under the leadership of Rakesh Sahu, District President of Akhil Bhartiya Tailik Sahu Mahasabha gave a written application to Sitaramdera police station in-charge, demanding legal action against the accused Roshan Kumar. Upendra informed the police that accused Roshan, along with his friends on November 16, had threatened to kill him with a knife if he was not given free tea and snacks. District President of the Mahasabha, Rakesh Sahu said that if the accused is not arrested within 24 hours, then an agitation will be organized by the Tailik Sahu Mahasabha.
