Six criminals demanding extortion in the name of PLFI arrested

Chaibasa: Chaibasa Police have arrested six criminals demanding extortion in the name of PLFI. Superintendent of Police Ajay Linda said that secret information was received that 5-6 people are preparing to carry out a criminal act by gathering behind the Vandevi temple of Kiriburu area. On the basis of this secret information, a team was formed under the leadership of Kiriburu Sub-Divisional Police Officer. When the team reached near the Vandevi temple during the raid, they saw a scooty and a motorcycle parked there. Seeing the police force, the people sitting there started running away.

They were chased away by the police force and nabbed. On questioning the people, they revealed names as Deepak Goswami 25 years old, Chunnu Das 35 years old, Tapas Das 35 years old, Sonu Mohapatra 35 years old, Vinay Kumar Das 37 years old and Vikas Kumar Singh 24 years old. During the search, two country-made pistols, one country-made pistol, eight live bullets, magazine of the pistol, a black colored Yamaha Scooty and a blue colored Hero Honda motorcycle were recovered from them.

The SP said that in the name of PLFI, some criminal elements were forming a team and looting and extorting money at the local level. Those arrested will be produced in court and sent to jail.
