Jamshedpur, Sept 26: Rabindra Bhawan has been the hallowed home to painters, litterateurs, performing artistes and others in the genre. The works of noted painter, late Rita Sarkar who devoted her painting skills for the best part of 49 years while teaching aspiring painters to leave their colourful mark on canvas at Tagore Society, the Mecca of purists in the expressive arts, is grabbing eyeballs of both connoisseurs and art lovers with her sensitive painting expressions in an exhibition of her masterworks in the portals of the famed Rabindra Bhawan. Incidentally, Rita Sarkar was a gem from the Shantiniketan lineage where her urge to express found language through the paintbrush.
Inaugurating Rita Sarkar’s painting exhibition, General Secretary of Tagore Society Ashis Chowdhury observed that the artwork were amazing that had the stamp of devotion and sensitivity. “These paintings should serve as guide and initiative to the budding artists of the current and future generations. There is no shortcut in the field of art that requires meditative devotion and patience to grasp the knowledge and experience that unfolds with every essay through the fathomless horizons of expression.”
